Thanks for writing. That's a funny joke, heard it many times and I even use a spacepen myself. Unfortunately I dicovered in my research that it's not true. First, it was a private commercial venture, NASA scientists never touched it nor was government money used, second, these pens have been on every American AND Russian manned spaceflight. Sorry to burst the bubble, I used to love telling that story too.

141 WEST 21 STREET, NYC
November 15 – December 8, 2001

RECEPTION: Tuesday, November 20, 5-7PM
Video, Drinks, plus a special appearance by the Space Painter, first artist in space.

This exhibition will give an overview of Space Painter-Chris Ramey’s mission to space aboard the space shuttle with the intent to bring back a body of artworks. Included will be an actual Space Painting!
The exhibition also features work of Anne Spurgeon, Nicole Engelmann & Diana Shpungin; curated by Rachel Gugelberger.
